Invited to fellowship interview at Moorfields- told that they did not believe I had FRCOphth even though qualification written on my application form as passed, and repeated questions about where I trained as a doctor in a derogatory tone.
Amazed as have medically trained in University of London and have original certificate, and have original certificate of FRCOphth from RCOphth! Also attended college award ceremony and paid completion fee to the College.
Informed I was not appointed so applied for fellowship elsewhere.
Then Moorfields sends me urgent messages saying i am a good person to ask to do locum consultant sessions in locations where their own employees do not want to work.... suddenly my FRCOphth is recognised ....proof that Moorfields appoints through bull*hit.
Clearly you need to have a foreign medical qualification and it is helpful to have a marriage certificate with an existing consultant. Why don't they put it in the person specification and not waste my time?
