If you wanna break these walls down, you're gonna get bruised

And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying that I probably shouldn't be so mean
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAnd there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut

The prospect of the continuation of the journey without a break is disheartening but at the same time she understands. He wants to go home and at the same time is driven to show her all of its beauty before the sun wanes and all is lost. She cannot help the soft sigh she releases from her lips nor the longing glance she rests upon the sand which seemed so inviting in that moment. Surely they cannot rest for but a moment? Her pillars seem to agree with her as her knees start to lower themselves to the ground before her mind caught up to her weary body.

No! We are almost there. If I give up now it would all been for naught. A fruitless endeavor to see my new home.

Holding her crown up proudly, Nereid starts to follow him out of the depths of the ocean. She feels not a lick of regret to be free of the salted waters, memories too fresh and haunting to appreciate the elemental force she had once laid praise to as a young filly and then a young mother. Her auds twitch for a moment, straining to hear beyond the crashing waves, memories peering from the under the lid of the box in which they were held. She could faintly hear the cry of her child then the rushing roar of the tide. It caused her to pause, the last of her hooves still embedded in the shallow waters. Her crown turned to face the abyss of dark water, lashes fluttering close to her cheek as she looked down in shame.

‘I loved you. I laid praise at your feet and you took him from me…..but I forgive you. You are what you are and he time was done in this world. Forgive me my grudge….’

With that, she began to follow Gabbar to the new home that they would share until she took her last breath in this world.

Or so she had thought.

It was his scent that reached her first. Smelling of wild grass and earth. Musky. She knows not what to think of it when it reached her nostrils. They flare in response, lungs expanding to take deeper inhales of the foreign scent. She wants to believe that the scent belongs to either the neighboring stallion or Gabbar’s second. She so desperately desires to believe that fate is not attempting to screw her over once more but it seems she is wrong. For it is the sound of his daggers sinking into the terrain that reaches her next and then her sight is filled with foreign flesh and the feel of her balance leaving her.

Nereid loses her balance when the foreign stallion drives his shoulder into frame. She stumbles, staggering into the ocean waters and farther from the protection of her stallion. A cry escapes her lips, auds flattening against her skull as she searches desperately for Gabbar. He is there, she knows this but at the same time she cannot help the instinctive desire to see and touch him. To cower behind his strength and know she is protected from this foreign intruder. Yet it is the intruder who separates her from safety and this causes her heart to pound and for fear to pump throughout her body.

“Gabbar!” ‘help me’ she wants to say but cannot. She nervously attempts to escape back onto the shoreline, to firmer grounds and a greater chance to escape. Why was this happening? She simply wanted to be able to live a life with the stallion that had chosen her and she had accepted with all that she was and could be.

“Please don’t do this. I don’t want to leave him. Please...please…I don’t want to be alone again. Don’t make me leave him…he promised….please.” she cannot help the words that leave her vocal cords. Cannot help the fear nor the involuntary tears that slip past her defenses. She trust Gabbar. She desired to stay within the protection of Gabbars presence. The thought of being taken from him leaves a bitter taste in her mouth and for the memories to resurface. ‘I just wanted a home. Was that too much to ask for?’

[I don't know if your tired of hearing it but sorry to hear about that. Hope everything is doing better now? -obviouslyishitatreassuringbutitry- I really love Gabbar as well <3 he brings out a new side to Nereid. This plot is going to be interesting to play out between the three of them. No hard grudges Vinyl! Nereid is a little emotional compromised at the moment with her knight being taken from her. ]
