CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.

LAYING UP OF 2RRF COLOURS - WARNING ORDER
IP: 217.43.69.83

The Colours of the former 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers will be laid up on Sunday 9 October 2016 at St Mary's Collegiate Church, Warwick. This is the last time that these Colours will ever be carried on parade.

The Laying Up will form part of the annual Fusilier Association (Warwickshire) Parade and Church Service. The outline of the day will be:

* Assemble in Warwick by 1300

* Parade the Colours through Warwick, with the Salute taken by the Colonel of the Regiment

* Church Service in St Mary's Church, conducted by the Chaplain General.

* Laying Up of the Colours

* Tea in the adjacent Shire Hall Warwick c 1600 +

Detailed planning has started and more details, including timings, will be issued in due course. All aspects are being run by Midlands Area HQ.

We recognise that this year's Fusilier Association (Warwickshire) Parade and Church Service will attract a wider attendance than usual. However, the capacity of both St Mary's Church and Shire Hall will restrict numbers to 300. Therefore, after a limited number of senior military and civic guests, the order of priority for attendance will be:

1. Members of Fusilier Association (Warwickshire)

2. Ex 2 RRF outside Fusilier Association (Warwickshire)

3. All other Fusiliers.

Once we reach 300, we will not be able to accept any further attendance.

There will be a small charge for the Shire Hall reception, in order to minimise costs to the Regiment.

Further details of the day will be issued in due course.

Algy Cole

Maj (Ret'd) RRF

Midlands Area Secretary for the Fusiliers
