Distant conversation dies upon the wind, and soon all there is is sand. Indira is lost within it. It swirls around her, spinning her and her inner compass until the confusion consumes her. She can think of nothing but the burning in her eyes until the force of an unexpected collision brings the filly to her knees.

She struggles for purchase on the the loose footing. When she finally collects her legs beneath her, the sand storm is moving past them into the desert beyond. She snorts the sand from her nostrils and struggle to see who she met with such force inside the storm. Through her watered eyes she can see the vague shape of a stranger. He smells strongly of stallion, but nothing like her father.

At this realization, her heart leaps into her throat.

"I-I", she stutters at first, before harnessing her own fears. Indira blinks the remaining sand from her eyes and fixes her watery gaze on the bay stallion standing before her. She lifts her chin and continues with a bold introduction. "I am Indira, daughter of Orhan and Arcana, of the desert. I apologize for trespassing. I was lost in the sand storm. It won't happen again."

Indira didn't realize it until now, but she had been holding her breath. She lets it out slowly, another effort to hide her fear. She's tempted to run, but she's smart enough to know that this stallion could easily outrun her if he wanted. So instead she stays, to gauge the stranger's intentions. She'll decide on her next course of action after she has a better grasp on the situation at hand.

Oh, her parents are not going to be please when she returns home... if she returns home. Indira swallows that thought. No, she will make it home again.
