The silence between them is comforting, it is natural. At first the Monster assumed silence from all that walked among her when they wanted her presence. Perhaps it was due to the difference of status between them, she being their Alpha and they being the wolves she protected. It was mildly annoying at first. She would not yell at them nor would she harm them. They were wolves that pledged their loyalty to her and she would do whatever she could to ensure their safety and make sure they would be well. So, when they were silent she would be silent as well trying to give off an impression she was not annoyed. Though at this moment she was quite comfortable, Samhain was not giving off the impression he was afraid to be around her which was a welcoming feeling. As they walked side by side her ears would be pointed in his direction, silently making him aware that she was paying attention to him. As he spoke her dark eyes would shift to observe him carefully, finding him peculiar. As he explained what he wanted with his children, a slow smile appeared on her lightly grey peppered muzzle.
“Being in a pack, and serving one will give someone purpose outside themselves. Your children will find their purpose. Having a purpose is not something I can give, but it is something we can find and help nourish and help them be successful.”
She could not tell his children what their purpose would be. She was not their Creator not was she some sort of God that was able to bestow something of such importance upon them. All she could do, all Samhain could do, was to watch them grow and gently push them in the right direction. Everyone’s purpose was unique and special to them alone and Tick Tock would take the time to make sure that they achieve whatever sort of purpose they had. It was important for Samhain to know that he would not be alone when it came to raising his children and ensuring their paws would not be idle.
