Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

and I can’t resist [Kasabian]

Kendry’s been in high spirits for quite some time despite having to entertain himself for several seasons. Summer was a challenge, autumn a little easier— it was a relief for most of the birdsong to stop as the feathered whistles took off for warmer climates. And when winter finally came, bringing snow and cold and silence, the perlino had no end of enjoyment romping and frolicking like a colt through the more-or-less empty Lagoon. There is his spotted friend, too, for conversation and company when the wind blows a little too cold for even the hairy draft’s comfort.

Spring is on its way in now. In an effort to keep his boredom at bay, Kendry expands his adventuring to the outer edges of his home, hoping the snowmelt will reveal some trace of newcomers or that new life will bloom in horse-form when the wildflowers crop up as the weather continues to warm. Yesterday was almost balmy, and lots of snow trickled away until night fell and snapped the world full of cold again. Today the snow crunches sticky and wet under his hooves but maintains its white grasp on the earth, still holding out against inevitable change, but losing slowly.

Kendry finds himself at the eastern border of the Lagoon, where the trees break and an impressive stretch of field introduces the sharp incline of the neighboring territory, the Peak. He’s never been up the mountain and doesn’t think he wants to try that trek today, but it is something he has begun to consider. It’s always been in the background of the landscape but this is the first time the perlino has been anywhere close enough to actually see the base of it rising up. The draft flicks his thick tail and shifts his weight idly, wondering if there are horses up there.
