Want to survey bumble bees this summer?

Love exploring Ontario Parks? Want to survey bumble bees this summer at Pinery Provincial Park and/or Awenda Provincial Park? Wildlife Preservation Canada is running two volunteer bumble bee survey programs this summer, and we need your help in locating the Endangered Rusty-patched Bumble bee (Bombus affinis), the Special concern Yellow-banded Bumble Bee (Bombus terricola), and the Endangered Gypsy Cuckoo Bumble Bee (Bombus bohemicus). All you need is the ability to get to the park one day during your prechosen week, take digital photographs of bumble bees at assigned locations, and upload them to www.BumbleBeeWatch.org. Time commitment is flexible – you can sign up to survey once or multiple times this summer!

To participate in EITHER program, you can attend a training session at Pinery Provincial Park OR Awenda Provincial Park! Please see the dates below, and click on the links to sign up for training! Questions can be sent to bbwvolunteers@gmail.com.

Pinery Training: 1pm – 4pm on June 12th, 2016.
