The answer to my question was clear even before she spoke a response, her white form moving past me with a swiftness that indicated her drive to get wherever she was going. Honestly, for a second I thought she was just going to keep going and ignore me completely, and I nearly turned to continue on my own way. But then the single worded reply came, and my interest was piqued. So, she was in a hurry, but she had enough time to slow down and talk to me. Slow down, but not stop. I quickly jogged to catch up, accepting the unspoken invitation and falling into step with the unknown shewolf.
Taika. It sounded familiar. Taika, Taika...Taika. Where had I heard that name before? Or really, had I heard it before? As we moved around a more narrow ledge of rock, I dropped back behind the white woman for a moment, mulling over the name. Once the path broadened again I moved up beside her once more. I quickly made up my mind on what to say. "I've heard of her," it wasn't exactly a lie. The name sounded familiar, anyways. "But I might need a little more information if I'm going to be of any help finding her." I grinned at the woman, hoping to learn a little more about the missing wolf Taika, and who it was that was looking for her - and why?
Well, if I was going to get any interesting information from her, I may as well be cordial enough to share my own name. She didn't smell like any other pack - in fact she smelled like a vast collection of places all rolled into one. But still, distinctly Moladion, not completely foreign. Perhaps she was a traveler of some kind. In any case, I didn't see any reason to lie to her or disguise who I was. "I'm Nymeria, who are you?"
