GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
if you cannot bite, never show your teeth

There was something exciting about being in the Prairie again – that same feeling of anticipation she used to have when she knew she could be caught somewhere she wasn’t supposed to be at any moment. She wondered fleetingly, while simultaneously taking in the sights, who would find her this time and which of her particular games they would play – amicable or combative. A wry smirk crossed her dark lips at the prospect of either. People say you’re either a lover or a fighter but Dreadbite was both.

Now where were the inhabitants of the prairie, she thought to herself as she make no attempts to conceal her presence – almost taking pleasure in the rustle of the leaves and each snap of a twig that echoed within the thicket that surrounded her. Silence was boring, and while some might argue she could be attracting attention from predators, she didn’t really care.

As she stepped free of the foliage, Dreadbite was aware of a presence close by but she pretended not to notice and merely dipped her head down to rip some of the grass from its roots instead. Subtly, she angled herself to face the hill and her mismatched eyes peeked out from behind her shaggy black forelock, taking in the sight of a red stallion standing at the top like he was king of the castle. She supposed he was a king of sorts.

Some moments passed, neither of them really acknowledging the other until finally a neigh broke through the silence. Dreadbite raised her head and nickered a greeting return, mostly still pretending she had only just noticed of him, and then lazily strolled forward to meet him. Her gaze washed over him carefully; the ripple of strong muscle beneath the healthy shine of his coat. While she could make no judgment on his company yet, he was at least pleasing to the eye - and that was always a welcome bonus.

Dreadbite’s ears were already pricked curiously in the chestnut stallion’s direction when he spoke. Lost eh? She wondered if she truly looked lost, or if he was just being cautious. “Do you think so?” she enquired airily while extending her muzzle to meet his, a playing smirk creeping across her lips “And here was me thinking I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.”
