I did not see so very much a reason to speak further, at least not here and now. It was not my place any longer and as such I stayed silent, allowing the female wolf and Mistress Tick Tock to speak though the earthen brown and gold of my ears remained pricked forward to capture the words spoken between them both. It would be imprudent, I think, not to listen to that which occurred. For the most part at least my own form remained relaxed, seated as it was to the side and slightly behind the Alpha female whom had chosen to place herself in front of me. I was an adult surely, I could take care of myself, after all- no one could catch me when I ran. The wind itself barely dared to try! Yet it is the role of Alpha to do as such, to place herself before me and in that motion I make no move to question it. I simply listen, gaze flicking from one to the other and yet the air remains decidedly tense between them both. The stranger is unwilling to back down and yet by the very same notion Mistress Ticj Tock perceives a threat. One seeks a child and one protects a pack. They both, I think, have something to protect. It is surely merely fortunate the child was not stolen here- but had come by her own free will, else by accident and as such neither was truly at fault.
The stranger, surely, should have asked before she dared to tread upon our lands. It is she who broke the rules after all and yet the situation had made itself clear and Mistress Alpha, surely, could ease her own irritability. At least however, it was not Tobias whom had come, for there is naught that soothes him when he is high upon anger save for perhaps the Alphess or She of Red and White. My Alphess though it seems, suspects a threat still, perhaps she suspects trickery and yet I suppose I cannot blame her. Jaidah was a deceitful wolf- or so I am told and I understand I think, how it would be difficult to forget the matters of the past. I do not think though, not truly, that this female means to deceive. At least not today. She had already grown calmer, my own lips affording her the vaguest of smiles, somewhat scruffy head nodded in encouragement (for I know the Alphess can be a terrifying creature at times and to those who do not know her) before the stranger commented upon myself and Tick Tock sought so answer. That she had noticed my speed was pleasing in its own way and yet in this moment I allow myself to speak once more, gaze turned to the other female now.
“It is alright.”
I simply assure her. After all, Tick Tock is protecting what is her own and I think I am proud to be one of those things. Though I appreciate too, that a stranger should seek to look out for me all the same. I waited then, until silence fell across the pair once more, before offering my voice though I remained seated as I was and as my position surely dictated. My words directed to Tick Tock.
“Maybe we can escort her together to retriever her daughter? Between the two of us I am sure she will not try and attack, beside, if her child truly is here there would be no point in her attacking us. It would only slow her down further to do that.”
