Downtown Merlin and accomplices.

At 2 this afternoon while sitting in my backyard in downtown Barrie I heard the now familiar cry of a Merlin. Looking up I saw it about 60 metres high and about 5 metres behind a medium sized Accipiter, possibly a female Sharp Shinned. It was chasing the hawk. Behind the Merlin were 3 Blackbirds. The Merlin veered off, probably deciding the hawk was leaving it's territory when one of the Blackbirds dove at the Accipiter. At this point they disappeared behind some treetops. Strange mobbing companions.
