Childbirth is a contradiction, like mother nature herself is both cruel and beautiful, so is the struggle Arcana just overcame upon this beach. The blinding light of her joy chases away any shadow of pain, fear, or panic she felt earlier today. Their frightening foray into the waves is all but forgotten in this moment.

Arcana pauses her ministrations to allow her daughter to stand, and for a moment, she casts a weary look to Orhan. His teary eyes reflect strong emotions swirling inside herself, and drive her own eyes to do the same.

A few more vigorous licks of her daughter's rump, and Orhan is pressed against her. Through a haze of tears the mare alternately grooms the young filly and Orhan. Her smooth tongue roughly brushes the young filly's back and Orhan's shoulder. It's no longer an act of cleaning, but an expression of her affection.

Her love knows no boundaries, from child to mate. Through the crescendo of emotions, Arcana is surprised to find her voice "Orhan, I'd like you to name her."

Arcana should have told him sooner, so he had time to think about what name he might choose, but she thought she had time. Perhaps she would have had more time, had the sea not sent her into an adrenaline-induced early labor.
