Vita Nova feels her heart flutter upon watching a lean buckskin stallion emerge from the depths of the oasis. She immediately straightens her posture, scrambling to look alert on all fours after having rested gently for a few minutes under the shade of the palm tree. The steel-colored mare follows Koray's lead and walks briskly after the cremello stallion to greet his father. She hangs back as the two talk, standing a few feet away, but close enough to hear and participate in the conversation. Though, it becomes clear there won't be much for her to contribute.
She watches behind blue eyes as the two discuss the current situation of Orhan's herd. Nova studies Koray as he digests this information. It's the first time she'd seen the stallion exhibit any kind of real outwardly emotion other than apathy and annoyance. And it's directed about the news of his mother. For but a brief moment, Nova couldn't help but feel bad for him. What a terrible way to learn this kind of news. She remains quiet, however, standing idly as she takes it what's unfolding in front of her.
When Orhan briefly shifts gears to address her, she is startled somewhat, completely caught up in the family drama. She snaps her head up high above her withers upon realization, and then bobs her head in an attempt to cover it up. She returns the smile with a weak one of her own and stumbles through a "Hello."
Luckily his initial interest in her is short lived and Koray's anger takes the spotlight. This is the stallion she's come to know in just a short few hours. Naive and childish, he lets his emotions get the better of him over a situation he cannot control. Nova remains quiet and unmoved by his chosen way to react. She's here to impress Orhan, not Koray.
"Thank you." she manages to mutter at the end of their quick squabble, and takes a few steps toward both stallions. "I am very excited to be here, and to get to know your family."
