When Argento had agreed to travel with Taika, he had not known a thing about her. Now, days later, he still knew very little, but he nonetheless felt completely at home with her. Her free spirit matched his own, and their unexpected detour to the desert had only strengthened their bond. There was something about enduring an accident such as getting lost together that only brought individuals closer together, after all. The knowledge that Taika had a long-standing position as a friend of the family helped too. All in all, he knew already that she would be a lifelong ally that he could trust completely.
Of course, being Argento's friend meant that Taika was no longer safe from his pranks and teasing; it did not matter that she was a few years his senior. And her secret tryst had not been lost on him. Though she had not mentioned what happened, and the exact specifics were unimaginable in his young brain, it had been all too obvious that she had met up with someone when she came back, after sneaking away, smelling of a stallion. Argento had not commented at the time; he had only smirked to himself and stored away the information to use later.
Now, on the shores of Atlantis, he decided to press the issue. His companion was distracted by the sights and sounds of the island, and the colt also took a moment to admire the bright colors and exotic wildlife as they strolled inland. But as they breached the trees and followed a winding path deeper into the territory, Argento lurched into a canter to catch up with Taika. He bumped against her wet shoulder and gave her a mischievous grin. "You were with a boy back in the desert, weren't you?" His blue eyes were bright with knowing.
