Was I left behind?
Tell me, tell me I survived.
I glare at the appaloosa stallion as he tried to squeak out a message to the foals before they were lead away. My copper ears briefly turn back against my poll and I snort, assessing the stallion. I don't understand why a grown man would wander into someone else's home in the middle of the night to play with their children, and lure them them across the border. It was suspicious to say the least. But I see no point in voicing my concerns further. This mare, Menkhat, seems to have a good handle over him and this situation. So I watch as the foals' frames disappear into the darkness as Samhain leads them home. With a short stomp of my heavy front hoof, I then dutifully turn my attention back to the leader of the Forest.
I listen as she offers further advice on how to watch over the foals. I am somewhat irritated by her tone, but I am no father myself, so perhaps her blunt message is what I need to hear. I am intrigued as her message unveils something rather personal about herself. I allow my gaze to shift back to Nuru now, to assess his response, before looking back to her and bobbing my head. "Thank you, Menkhat, for your assistance tonight. I apologize again for the disturbance." I say with the flick of my thick red tail. "Perhaps I'll come visit again, but at a much more appropriate hour and through the appropriate channels, of course." I say before turning on my haunches and striking out toward the trail that led toward the Prairie.
I hesitate a moment, and crane my head back to eye Nuru one last time with pinned ears. "I don't want to see you around the foals of the Prairie again." I say sternly, before nodding to Menkhat, and striding off into the night.
