Capacity issues are the biggest single threat to patient safety, quality of care, and OST training.
Those of us who have addressed ophthalmology capacity issues with minimal financial cost are looked down on by academic colleagues.
Whilst academics have their place it really is time that doctors with proven management skills are rewarded not derided by their colleagues.
