Your examination should be directly related to the presenting complaint.
Sometimes looking for a related condition should be done if this could be causative or a known link exists. For example why we do bloods in vein occlusions.
Doing anything more should only be done if there is sufficient evidence for screening ie meets WHO definition of screening.
If you start doing more than this it won't be long before you start doing prostate exams in eye cas. Replies:
