A Trip To The Cottage Posted on September 3, 2016 at 04:19:40 AM by Kenny Palmer
I went to the cottage with my sister. We did a lot of hiking. We went to the Thomas C. Agnew Nature Reserve, Kahshe Lake Barrens Provincial Conservation Reserve and Scout Valley Environmental Heritage Park Conservation Easement. Some of the animals seen while hiking at these places and at other areas in Orillia include:
2 Eastern Red-backed Salamanders
1 Five Lined Skink
Green Frogs
2 Midland Painted Turtles
2 Groundhogs
Eastern Chipmunks
Eastern Grey Squirrels both grey and black phased
North American Red Squirrels
North American Praying Mantis
Common Raven
1 Great Blue Heron
Belted Kingfishers
2 Northern Flickers
I am amazed at how much Canada Lynx scat I see whenever I visit the Kahshe Lake Barrens Provincial Conservation Reserve. Also, were a bunch of trees really cut down at Scout Valley Environmental Heritage Park Conservation Easement by the Highway 11 lookout? If so, why? Replies:
