Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Diamant

Diamant lifted his head in surprise, flinging his forelock out of his eyes and revealing the diamond-shaped star on his forehead. He stared at the palomino mare with wide amber eyes, listening intently as she explained that she knew who he was and where he was from. Had his initial suspicions been right? Was she an envoy sent to bring him home that had been captured by the bachelors?

He leaned forward to catch her quick words as they tumbled from her mouth. She spoke of Shamwari, a relative that he didn't know he had, and how he should seek him out. Diamant's mind began to spin with with all this new information. "I don't understand. What does your son--" he began, and broke off with sudden understanding. His eyes drifted upward, staring blankly into space with the shock of comprehension. Was this really happening to him?

He squeezed his eyes shut and tucked his chin to his chest. "Hold on. Slow down," he insisted, and took a few moments to collect his thoughts. When the young stallion opened his eyes again, they were narrow with suspicion and concern. "You're right, I'm from the Peak. Inka raised me. How did you--? ...Nevermind." He shook his head. "I'm related to your son? And you want me to go find him...?" His face was hot. She was asking a lot of him considering they had just met. He wanted to help her, of course he did, but travelling to a distant island he'd never been to to find a stallion he'd never met before? Why him?

"I-I don't even know your name," he stammered, his dark face earnest. "Why would they keep you here? Why would they do this to you?"
