somebody shine a light

Rowena isn't thinking of the consequences of today's foray into Paradise. The young mare is consumed by emotions, frustration and heartbreak at the forefront. Thus far Rowena has managed to bury her feelings deep, almost forget about them, until today. The full force of reality hits her like a slap to face. Perhaps they hit her so hard because the entire time she's been here, Rowena has had no one to confide in, not a single friend. This might be why Rowena doesn't snap at Macabre's concerned approach. Gentile tones are cool relief to her ears.

With one last effort, Rowena finds herself standing on level ground. "It's complicated." She answers, not wanting to go into detail just yet. The dark mare follows Macabre's gaze down the hill and in the direction of Paradise. She heaves a weighted sigh. "That mare, I don't even know her name.. She just makes me so angry."

This isn't even half of it. Dracaena wouldn't have ruffled Rowena's feathers at all, had she not already been upset about everything else that transpired. She feels the need to explain herself just a little bit more. "And Ailill... I didn't know who he was when I met him by the Falls. Why does it have to be him? Father would never let me go to Paradise. He hates Ailill." Rowena heaves a trembling sigh. She's not ready to tell Macabe, nor anyone else, why she feels the need to respect her father's wishes and stay in touch when she could just do whatever she wants. Vodnik isn't forcing her to stay.
