GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors

the coffin is moving

Oh, how the tides have turned!

Asp could pretend to feel slighted that Shamwari rebuked him, but in fact, he just saw it as another challenge. The poor colt just didn’t know when to give up, with his backwards mentality of how a proper herd stallion should behave.

First he’d encroached on the Forest’s turf with nary a thought to respect (none at all, if Asp remembered correctly, and during breeding season, at that!) Then he’d gotten his pretty but silly mother involved. Then he’d eyeballed Dragonmaw as if the little spotted mare would ever spare him the time of day--and then his father had to come by to try and patch things up.

And the way he postured when Asp’s ears were poked forward out of his bushy forelock and his body language was relaxed? Oi vey. Still, though, Asp knew he wouldn’t like it if a capable band stallion (notably without a herd) was dilly dallying on his turf, so he cut the kid some slack… but not enough to change his mind that Valentine (or maybe it had been the colt’s mother; he did not know) had really created a failure in this one. Jutting out his lower lip, Asp rolled his eyes as the other stallion’s hoof hit the ground, pawing, pawing, pawing.

“What, you diggin’ a hole to China,’ Asp snapped, his ears flicking back and then forward again.

“Chill, kid, and careful what ya’ say. If the Forest doesn’t work out,’ he paused, his eyes sweeping over the Prairie meaningfully, ‘I might just take what your papa gave ya’ just to teach you some damn manners for once.”
