RUAIRIDH

The smaller mare’s head snapped back at the sight of him and Ruairidh’s eyes went wide; his neck craning to the left and then the right to see if there was something frightening behind him that warranted such concern. Seeing nothing, the stallion snorted but shrugged it off. How Rude! He wasn’t even scary!

It was at the point, she then moved forward as if to protect the bigger mare. Ruairidh all but pouted at the wound that left on his character but supposed he couldn’t entirely hold it against them; he was a lone stallion in their home after all.

Still.

He disliked the way the smaller mare made him feel – like he was some dirty, contagious freak out to hurt them when he’d already explained that the sea had deposited him here and he wasn’t looking to cause problems.

Well, other than the problems caused by putting his foot in his mouth.

Perhaps comparing Vodnik’s name to an ailment wasn’t his brightest best idea for it only led to a serious tone from the chestnut mare. A lithe and pretty thing she might be, but she was not all that welcoming or inviting. Ruairidh deflated a little at her tone and again huffed out his disappointment. It didn’t take a genius to work out Vodnik was their stallion (why else mention him?), and felt a little like a scolded child at having to be told.

She didn’t even crack a real smile when he laughed about Atlantis! He didn't miss briefest of grins on the big mare though, even if it did die upon looking at the chestnut. At least he succeeded someone, he figured. He flicked his tail and might have shrugged if it were possible; perhaps the skinny mare just didn’t understand his accent or his humour.

Ruairidh was pleased at least one of the mares could understand what he was saying though, and nodded his head vigourously when she explained to the chestnut what he’d already said. “Aye, Ah washed up lick a drookled rat on yin shore o’er there." he echoed, bobbing his head animatedly in the direction of the shore.

The spotted pony couldn’t be pleased for too long though as the mare he liked better issued what sounded a lot like a threat. He wasn’t sure if they planned to stomp him themselves, or if he was about to catch the Vodnik, but he supposed he should get to the point all the same. “Only hing am lookin’ fur is directions ta tha nirest place ah will’na geet me arse kicked fur enterin’” he chuckled, never one to be too serious.
