Re(1): Southern Flying Squirrel


That is an exciting discovery, especially since you live close by. I would love to see a Flying Squirrel in my yard. I have never seen a live Flying Squirrel. I recall finding partial remains of one in a Wood Duck nesting box at Mayers Marsh, ( just north of Snow Valley) that was used by a Screech Owl.
I know you have quite a few Black Walnut trees in your yard and neighbourhood. I wonder if they eat Walnuts.
On any day in my yard, I can see at lest 2 Red Squirrels, Grey Squirrels and 3 Chipmonks. A Flying Squirrel would be a welcome addition.
Anyone else have Flying Squirrels in Barrie? And if so, what part of Barrie are you in?
