aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Exhilarating.

That was the only way Seraphina could describe the hunt, even though she’d only been watching. The way everyone worked together as one to take down prey was incredible to watch, especially when the older wolves seemed to be able to communicate with one another without words. The princess couldn’t wait to be part of one. To feel the rush of adrenaline. She’d felt the buzz of excitement from the participants and it had rubbed of on the girl. If only she was grown! Then she could be part of it already. Waiting was no fun.

Though, if Sera was older then she wouldn’t be as close to Vladimir and Castiel and she’d rather be friends with them than help out in a hunt. This way, their first hunt would be all together. That was much better. The three of them would make an excellent team seeing as they spent just about every hour of the day together. Vlad would head the pack, but Seraphina and Castiel would be right there beside him. At least, in Sera’s mind. This was her home now, Dante or no. The firebird had decided that.

And the princess certainly couldn’t imagine leaving the twins. What would they do without her? She liked to think that she brought balance to their little group, otherwise there’d be too much testosterone. Even more than that, Seraphina wanted to be with them. The boys were her first and only friends. Vlad… well they’d promised to be friends forever. She was going to keep that promise. Indeed, the two of them could often be found in each others company, even when Cas wasn’t there. It wasn’t intentional, things just turned out that way sometimes, but Sera didn’t mind it. A few months ago, the firebird would have thought it impossible that they would be friends. Vladimir had hated her so obviously she’d hated him. Now they were inseparable.

Despite not being an actual part of the hunt, Sera found herself exhausted from it nonetheless. She had bid her goodbyes to the boys and headed back to her den. It was a small thing, just like her, and nestled on the outskirts of a small clearing. She made it only a short distance from the lake, mostly out of convenience for drinking and bathing. But even the princess had to admit that it made for some pretty picturesque views as well, especially when the sun was rising or setting. The ethiopianess slept well that night, thoroughly tuckered out from her day.

“Sera… Sera wake up.” The copper crown rose abruptly, but the princess’ emeralds were slower. She blinked, ushering sleep out and allowed the light to flood in. It was barely morning. The girl rose, shaking out her coat, and moved towards the voice, which she’d recognized as Vladimir’s.

“What is it, Vlad?” She asked sleepily. The only reason Seraphina could see for someone to seek her out so early in the morning was that something was wrong. “Did something happen?”
