Koray
To say that Vita Nova's touch was unexpected would be an understatement. Koray's ears flicked back, and his skin twitched where the soft velvet of her muzzle met it. When she pulled away he felt his muscles unclench, and he searched her face for an explanation. He could not recall the last time - if ever - the mare had shown the least bit of affection or camaraderie to him, and his instinct initially was to mistrust it.
But her words only confirmed that she was on his side. The perlino stallion stared at Vita Nova in silence for several moments after she had spoken, musing over this change in circumstance. There was time still for the mare to rebel, but for now it seemed that she would not be a thorn in his side. How unexpected. He had been preparing himself to assert his dominance over her, to physically force her to stay and do his bidding, and the sudden absence of this outlet left him feeling almost dizzy. Could it be possible that, despite the rocky start to their relationship, he might eventually find a worthy partner in Vita Nova? At the very least, perhaps she might one day bear him some children.
Koray snorted with satisfaction and relaxed his posture somewhat. He followed the mare's gaze out to the sandy hills, and searched them briefly for the silhouettes of his family. "We need to keep an eye on my mother and my sisters. Carisa is deaf, as you know, and I don't want her wandering off again. I'm not too worried about Feray; she'll be wherever my mother is. Evren, though... She could be a troublemaker. She's too adventurous for her own good."
The pale stallion turned back toward Vita Nova and studied her with calculating green eyes. "I want you to help me keep them in check. I don't want anyone leaving without my knowing it. That includes you, you know. Can I depend on you?"
