...you're not gonna complete 15 posts before you complete 5, so logically, these badges can only be claimed in order.
however, some challenges aren't numerical quantities. "acquisition range", for example:
Bronze: Join a character and post it 3 times.
Silver: Pick up a "playerless" character and post it 3 times.
Gold: Breed your characters and post the baby 3 times.
Platinum: Pick up a "strings attached" character from another player and post it 3 times.
it's feasible that you might pick up a playerless character and play it before you join a new one. this means that you could earn the silver badge before the bronze one.
similarly, the "awkward situations" challenge:
Bronze: Make them nervous.
Silver: Make them emotional.
Gold: Make them cry.
Platinum: Complete round 1 of Omniety.
the first one your character completes could even be platinum! or you could complete all 3 of the other badges in your omniety entry, meaning you could earn every single badge in one post.
"1 badge per character" is badly worded. it doesn't mean each character can only ever earn 1 badge in that challenge (so if they make the bronze they can never get to silver) - it means badges are earned per character rather than per player. so if you look at my response to the "super characters" challenge, you can see i've issued badges for my individual characters. but the "acquisition range" challenge shown above can't be done per character since characters can't join characters, so the badges are per player instead.
