Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

a silver tongue cannot hide a dark heart

Argento did not fail to note how the stranger picked his words carefully, doling them out with no exuberance or embellishment. While the young stallion was still familiarizing himself with the ways of the world, there were a few conclusions he had come to from the few adventures he'd had, chief amongst them being that he believed one could tell everything one needed to know about another within the first minute of meeting them. Already Argento was making his own assumptions about this stranger's character based on his countenance; Bishop seemed straight-shooting and honest, if a little reserved.

Argento was confident he could bring out the livelier side of him, however, given enough time.

Nodding and smiling with encouragement, the young stallion let out a heavy breath that became a snort of suppressed laughter. While the cloud of condensation from his nostrils cleared, he cast a leisurely glance inland at the desolate landscape that was his home. "Well, you've come to the right place, Bishop. I think. Neglected and lackluster as it is right now, this stretch of land has apparently been the refuge for us rowdy bachelor folk since time immemorial. Not that I would know; I'm new myself." He returned his gaze to the black stallion with a flick of his tail and a gleam in his eye.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, by the way. I'm Argento. You see that mountain in the distance?" He motioned with his nose toward the peak looming in the mist. "I was born there, with the vulcan mares. The apple never falls far from the tree, alas. What island were you born on? Maybe I know it."
