WHAT LIVES IN A COSTA RICAN RAIN FOREST
WITH REV. DON DOWNER

Don is an MPFN member and an accomplished nature photographer. Don's connection with nature began when he was a child growing up in Midland on beautiful Georgian Bay. On nature walks with his father and grandmother, Don learned to notice the tiniest flicker of movement in the forest and to find and name a variety of birds and plant life. Today Don uses that skill working with the camera to translate rare glimpses of nature into exciting digital imagery.
Many of Don's photos are taken around his cottage/studio near Waubaushene. On trips to more exotic locations, he seeks out the many wonders of the natural world to photograph and share. Don has just returned from a trek to Costa Rica where he took a field course through the York University Faculty of Environment Studies and toured the area with his wife, Dr. Adrienne Perry, and grandson.

As usual we will be fundraising by selling our 50/50 tickets and our MPFN Magic Bean Soup.
MPFN Memberships are Family $45, Single $25, Under 30 FREE
Please invite your friends and neighbours to try out the MPFN. Nature needs Naturalists.
You can also bring along any used nature books you'd like to donate to our Great Nature Book Sale. Books donated will be resold for what the buyer thinks they're worth.
Please, members, could you make a special effort to help us replenish our stock of books this month for the Nature Book Sale. We are heading into our fundraising efforts at the Wye Marsh Sweetwater Harvest and could use some fresh stock.
Don't forget to Lug-A-Mug for refreshments after the meeting.
Thanks to Ellen Dennig for providing name tags for all members. Don't forget to pick yours up on the way into the meeting and then leave it in the box on your way out.
