While conducting mole salamander surveys today in mating vernal pools spring peepers were calling in broad daylight and will be in full chorus tonight. Lots of Eastern Phoebe calling and Golden-crowned Kinglets moving through but heard a Red-bellied Woodpecker calling at Moon Point. That is a species that is much more common in recent years. Coltsfoot and Sharp-lobed Hepaticas are in bloom.
