Warning: strong sexual references.

I may not always know what's right, but I know I want you here tonight.

Mallos felt nothing but pity for anyone who had never walked the dusty streets of the ancient Spanish-Moroccan city.

“Greatest city on Earth.” He answered with a subtle conveyance of that sympathy, like, how terrible must your life have been if you’ve never visited this place before? “Granada.”

He accepted the glass of water and poured it over his head. The chilled liquid offered a sharper relief than the sluggish air conditioning unit ever could.

Paradise was the right word. Cigarette smoke injected its unique scent into the warm, Mediterranean air through the twin streams gently rising towards the ceiling. Mallos had had multiple homes for some time now. The majority of his life and work were conducted in Madrid, while his family lived on Shaman, but Granada would always be where he felt the strongest sense of belonging. The sight of the city through the floor-to-ceiling glass walls inspired a sense of ease which, when combined with post-active stillness, incited a rare calm. Calm was a positively paradisiacal feeling after many high-stress months with few opportunities to burn off unwanted energy.

Mallos removed the cigarette from his mouth and exhaled. The movement of his hands was deliberate, not impulsive as it usually was.

“I need to go to Madrid at some point to pick up some paperwork.” He informed Croe. “And I need a shower now. But other than that…” He shrugged. “Wherever you want to go in the world.”

His home in Madrid, the Empire State Building, the pyramids of Egypt, the Great Wall of China, the Norwegian fjords – none of it was beyond a simple teleport.

He stubbed the cigarette out on the coffee table, leaving a small stain which was easily wiped away with a glimmer of magic, and pulled himself up onto the sofa beside her. The black leather was a little cooler than the white rug had been. He closed his hand over hers – the one holding the glass – and lowered it slightly, leaning over to kiss her on the neck.

“Do you want a shower?” He asked, with a rather sly grin.

I've learned enough to know I'm never letting go
