Sighting in Waldoboro

Witnessed a young mountain lion cross route 220 south of Waldoboro; Spruce Lane cross street. Was very close and was able to identify, long tail, muscular build, about 3 ft tall, 5 ft long... and the wildlife folks still say they are extinct?
