I to was an advocate for using the old supers as a Limited back when they were in the design stage,,,,BUT the reason they didn't made sense.
Track owners were concerned that some Big block supers ,would drop back to the less expensive SBS series. Legit concern as this was the time when the BBS numbers were going down.Hence the creation of a feeder class. Which it was for quite a while.
