aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Sera wanted to see the best in Kael, she really did. She had had no reason not to think that he would be reasonable and see her side to things. But she had misjudged him it seemed. Kael neared her, telling her what her parents had told her a million times: she was too young to know what love was. Seraphina flicked her tail in annoyance. It was such a ridiculous claim that she could scream. Age had nothing to do with it, it was just a way to strong arm her into obeying her parents’, and apparently Kael’s, wishes. “Only we can love each other. That is the way it has to be, since you were promised to me, who you love is not up to you.” Sera shook her head, mouth agape. She did not belong to Kael, nor did her heart. Though he bade her to come with him, Sera made no move to leave. So Kael took matters into his own hand and grabbed her scruff and gruffly pulled her towards him. The princess yelped in surprise and tried to dig her paws into the dirt, but Kael was larger and stronger than she was. Seraphina threw a look towards Vladimir, but the prince was already in motion, knocking into Kael and pushing Sera aside.

The rest of the fight flew by Sera’s shocked eyes. She’d seen Vlad and Cas play fight before, but other than the horror at the last pack meeting - which she’d done her best to block out - the princess hadn’t seen a real fight before. She wouldn’t call herself a pacifist, but Sera knew her strengths. She preferred to settle things with words rather than claws and teeth. It was the blood that she liked the least. First there was Kael’s lower back, then Vlad’s, and then… Well let’s just say Sera hadn’t seen that much blood in her entire life. Vlad’s attack to Kael’s jugular had met its mark and red poured out all over his face and to the ground. Kael’s struggles grew weaker and weaker as his life force was drained from him until, after what felt like an eternity, Kael’s limp body was dropped to the ground. Sera tore her eyes away from it, her stomach churning. She didn’t like death. She’d really hoped that things didn’t have to end this way.

“I… I’m sorry. Are you okay?” Sera’s emeralds met Vlad’s electric blues. She nodded slowly, avoiding the sight of Kael.

“I’ll get over it.” She shrugged, walking over to him and inspecting his back. It didn’t look too bad, but she knew very little about this sort of thing. Sera wished that she’d taken advantage of Hellene and Sebring’s knowledge when they had been here. All she could do to help would be to keep it clean. “Are you okay?” The princess couldn’t imagine what the psychological effect of something like this was. Hesitantly, Sera rubbed against Vlad. He’d never had a chance to respond after her confession and she could only hope that he wouldn’t turn her away. Something Vlad had said during the fight wormed it’s way back into her head and Sera looked up at him. “You called yourself a Tempest… What did you mean?”
