Valve's critical gaze cut deep into Al-Hattaal as he spoke. Iftikhar could have a child. This was intriguing news. If the child was anything like the red mare this could prove troublesome, but Valve was not about to start a witch hunt and burn the young one at the stake over hearsay. Especially since Avangeline and Al-Hattaal were unsure the foal even existed.

“I see,” she says, her dark eyes flicking back toward the golden Akhal-Teke. As Evaline bumped her with her nose and shuffled slightly in front of her, Valve snorted quietly and bumped her back.

“We will let you know if Gabbar returns,” she continued, both reassuring Avangeline and answering her palomino companion’s assertive question. While it was unlikely that he would, given the new information Al-Hattaal had brought, Valve was suddenly a lot more interested in the possibility. She was also interested in the success of Al-Hattaal and Avangeline’s mission to locate the foal. Valve needed to know if she could possibly become a threat, and she trusted Avangeline to bring this news to her.

“If and when you find the child,” Valve continued, facing the golden Akhal-Teke again after Al-Hattaal apologetically bowed out of the conversation. “Then I expect you to let me know where she is.”
