QADIR
Qadir wasn't sure if he liked the way the pale mare regarded him. True, his eyesight wasn't what it used to be, but he could still see her examining his body and her brain contemplating something behind those light blue eyes. Eh, he was a large horse. He put aside his concerns under the assumption she was planning on how to defend her home if he turned out to be a threat. He'd have to prove he wasn't a threat to her before deciding whether or not to live here. Half of it depended on if she was willing to welcome him into her herd.

He dipped his head with a bashful smile as she spoke, feeling rather like he was a child and she was his scolding mother. "I suppose one could think of it that way," he spoke quietly. His eyes still twinkled mischievously. "If I am lost, then, would you be willing to show me around?" He let his grin spread gleefully across his face again, as if this was a game he was all too eager to participate in. It had been years since he had conversed with this many strangers. Perhaps it was a good idea to leave his home and herd; he felt more exhilarated than ever.

One ear twitched at her careful words, and his mind wandered slightly to ponder if he really looked like that much of a threat. Well, he kept forgetting his size. Someday he would meet a horse bigger than him and finally realize what others felt in his presence. "Paradise, eh?" He lifted his head to examine the wall of trees again, nearly missing Keyik's question. He turned back to her and smiled broadly. "Unfortunately, yes. I've only been on one other island so far. The one with the enormous waterfall? I haven't learned the name of that one yet."

For a moment he debated telling the mare more. He was itching to gossip, but he didn't know how she would take it. He huffed gently before leaning closer and lowering his voice to whisper, "but I met a mare who I'm sure was born from the ocean. She denied it, but, well," he glanced around them, as if someone could be eavesdropping "it takes one to know one." He winked and drew his head back. He couldn't resist sharing his stories to anyone who would listen. "So. What makes it paradise here?"
