At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

" no happy endings "

{ cynbel } - { brute } - { old alpha of a land far away } - { loveless } - { child of delaria }

The days lately had been growing weary, seemingly longer the more he kept on traveling. Long hours stretched into days, days stretching into months. Had he really been gone from his pack for that long? Leaving Blantra in charge was his own decision, but lately he had been going against even that. Had she been the best choice? With his ears flattened against his cranium and his head down, he let his worries pass. Now wasn't the time to be worried about that kind of thing. He wasn't here to linger upon the past, he was here to escape it. Fear crept into his throat, thinking about how everything had gone down many months ago. Nimueh had been his right hand girl, always advising him and together they basically ruled the they'd been great friends. However his mate, a lovely lupine by the name of Ygraine, had been having trouble conceiving a litter, so Nimueh had been asked to help. Tragedy took hold of he situation and Ygraine died while whelping. The final look in her eyes, the sorrow and the acceptance of death. That look burned right into his soul. He'd banished Nimueh out of bitterness, blaming her for Ygraines' death. Now, he knew he was wrong. His friend had only been trying to help, and now he was all alone.

Cynbel knew one thing ever since he had been young. He knew how to hide his emotions, but knew how to express them in extreme ways. He held in anger, kept a peaceful look on his handsome features, and played it cool. But when he snapped, he was on the verge of killing. He'd never had the taste for blood. He couldn't bring himself to do it. It was a scary thought. Having been alpha, killing was against his own moral code. If it hadn't, he would have threatened to kill Nimueh where she stood for taking away his mate. However, he couldn't nor would he ever say that. Over these months, he'd come to terms with his lovers death, moving on. He only wished that he could have had his pups, could've seen them grow up into fine wolves.. one being the heir of his throne.. but he couldn't ponder on that thought. He had a mission, his own personal one.

A new taste hit his tongue, his auds swiveling. His honey kissed orbits carefully scanned the area that he was in. The crisp air, the sea birds flying overhead. He was most likely at the lake. Placing one foot in front of the other the male brought himself forward to stand at the edge. The water before him rippled with delight, its crystal clear stature very please. Lowering his maw, he took large drinks from the lake, letting its refreshing taste wash over his throat and body. A new thought entered his mind, and like a playful pup he slid into the water, a gentle smile coming across his lips. The water was cool on his thick fur, seeping all the way into his skin. Cynbel slowly waded out into the water, his plume floating at the top. He then dipped himself under and let the cold wash over his head as well. The lad resurfaced a few moments later, deciding to climb out. It was a good feeling, he had to admit. Lifting his nose to the air, he tried to smell out any other wolves. Wolves that he knew. Ones he wanted to meet with. Nimueh was at the top of that list.

That's when he decided to lay down, let his worries wash away. He didn't mind others passing him, and if he were woken up with a fight, so be it. The brutish boy wasn't afraid of a minor skirmish. His frame lowered to the ground, his tail outstretched behind him. His usual posture. Cynbel lowered his head onto his feet, letting his orbs slide shut. Darkness consumed him once again.

im on my way
