He had wonderful timing When Ruger had first arrived upon the Atlantis shores, it had been on the border between the Ridge and Paradise; a piece of land where it seemed no one came to notice his new found existance on the island. But no sooner had he arrived did a storm blow in, cleaning away the salt from his flesh and any remaining scent of the lagoon to leave nothing but his own musk before he could find shelter to tuck himself away. It was against a rock face amongst a thick stand of palms he rode out most of the storm and only when it subsided to become just rain did he emerge. Ruger picked no particular direction as he began to wander the island he had never visited before. And it was some time he got to spend alone, making him wonder if this place had been deserted. When he was nearly convinced of that theory, Ruger spotted a horse up ahead and he paused as if to make sure she really was there before picking up a trot. The wet sand tugged at his legs and his hooves left deep scores in his wake, while the tiny tan grains clung to his legs and belly and where ever else it was flung to stick onto his wet flesh. It already irritated him along with his soggy wet mane that thumped against his strong neck and his tail that felt much too heavy and stiff. As he got closer he noticed the horse was a mare that stood the same height as him, but unlike his contrasting colors, hers actually matched the scenery. "Greetings" he said as he slowed and then finally stopped, his lips twitching into a crooked devil may care smile. Though it was Ruger's attempt to actually be friendly. "I was beginning to think this island was completely deserted." |
