QADIR
Qadir shook his mane, sending sprays of water at anything unfortunate to be close enough to his bulky frame. His still-wet mane whipped against his neck and he grunted at the force of it. It clung awkwardly to him. Still, at least he was out of the water. Hopefully the sun would dry him quickly; he knew as soon as a breeze came around he'd be even colder.

As if the weather could read his thoughts, a trickle of wind swept through the land. He shivered violently as it brushed against his skin. Even though the day was rather warm and the breeze wasn't all that cold, his damp coat exaggerated the mildest of the day into a chill. He wished he wasn't this bothered by the cold. It seemed silly to be this influenced by the weather.

He pondered Selenium's question as she dropped to roll in the water. "We didn't get close to the larger ones for many reasons, that being one of them, but typically the sand would settle down quite quickly. I don't think it could spread as far as the mist does here," he said once she surfaced again, giving a slight shrug. "The small ones never sprayed sand into my eyes, but perhaps I never got close enough."

After begging her one last time, Qadir perked his ears at her as her grin faded. He'd have to make it up to her somehow, based on how uneasy she looked. Perhaps he'd have to pay the price and visit Tinuvel with her. The thought sent a shiver down his spine. Well. He wouldn't mention it until she did, and until then he'd think of some other way he could make it up to her. He grinned as she finally responded (albeit hesitantly) and joked, "me neither. We'll have to befriend some of the locals while we're there." Maybe if they succeeded, he could drop by for a visit whenever he felt homesick.

He couldn't wipe the grin off his muzzle if he tried. "I'd love that. Thank you." He hadn't felt this giddy since he was a colt. Sure, his herd and Kenchiro wouldn't be there, but the land would be there. That's what he missed the second-most.
