DIAMANT

He did not miss her appraising gaze. Her eyes felt like hot brands on his skin, and he felt himself flushing under his jet black coat - with shame or embarrassment, or something else entirely, he could not be sure. She said he belonged here, as if she knew anything about him, and she was probably right. He had learned, after all, that his parents were from Tinuvel, and he had nowhere else to go anyway.

Nonetheless, it still twisted his gut to hear her pronouncing his fate in such a cavalier manner, as if destiny were hers to toy with. As if she owned him.

Diamant took a deep, shaky breath, and lowered his chin to his chest. He considered his situation. Had this so-called Queen found him on any other day, she would have discovered him a much harder fish to catch. Even now anger burned deep in him and glimmered like fire in his bloodshot amber eyes. But it was dampened by his grief and exhaustion, so he could not find the strength to lash out at her - to resist - as all his instincts willed him to.

When he spoke again, his voice was low, and he did not look at her. "Please, just leave me. Let me be no one for a while."

She would not have his name - not yet. He would not give her all of him.

OOC: I figure we can end it here, or with your reply? Diamant will sulk for a while, but he'll be out of hiding soon. 8)
