my mind's like a deadly disease

After everything you’ve done, I can thank you for how strong I’ve become

Enemies were not something the brute typically wished to make, though in life they generally came anyways. The tobiano male had not sought out Ruger or Shamwari, they had themselves prodded the bear and would reap the consequences. As for the femme standing before him, he saw no need to make an enemy out of her. She was sensible and capable, and obviously not looking for trouble.

Auds pricked as she offered him the same kindness - a passing of knowledge should she learn of any threats to his herd. Although life had taught him that trust was not something he should give easily, he could see no reason not to believe her. True, she neighbored the Prairie and could very well feed information to Shamwari, yet he didn’t think so lowly of her to entertain the thought. After all, she’d have gleaned little of interest from their conversation, not to mention having revealed a threat to her own land. Thus, he bobbed his head and offered the queen a gracious smile, I appreciate the courtesy. It is not something I’ve found often.”

Orkaan remained silent as Persephone seemed to consider her next words, his amber eyes searching her facade. Funny how some he met had so embraced this new reality of mares leading herds, while everything else seems to have stayed the same. Silently, he wondered what Owdeht would have thought. Sterkte would obviously be pleased, but his grandmother was more a traditional sort. Of course she also wouldn’t have liked Dora much - too bubbly. Still, he found himself drawn to the lively mare more so than to her reserved and critical sister.

Sensible. Yes, perhaps he was. Unless of course he was angry. The stag could not count the number of times his temper had gotten the better of him. Still, Persephone, nor Mariael, needed to know such things. They would likely never encounter his wrath.

”I would be pleased to have a formal alliance with someone such as yourself Persephone. I find your level head refreshing and I’ve no ill-intentions toward your herd. I’m sure my family would take comfort in knowing we have another ally among us.” Perhaps it would also get Zephyra off his back for a bit.
