Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

They're Catching Onto Us

They said we'd burn so bright.
We burn this city and go.

Paradiso was trembling, a twitch that started at his withers and carried down through the muscles in his neck, shoulders and forelegs. He was shaking like a leaf, so much so that he could feel his teeth chattering inside his jaw. His nostrils flared, reaching for air in the humid lagoon, and finally he caved, taking a step forward and then another, to try to rid himself of this nervous, useless energy. His stare remained on Gent, however, watching as the heavier set appaloosa's demeanor changed after hearing about his own plight. It took the younger stallion by surprise. And so did the words that came next from the bachelor stallion.

Whatever Argento's intention, his story worked in disarming Paradiso. Suddenly the sooty-colored stud was forced to put his own mixed feelings aside to consider the other's. It was true, he was lucky to have his mother today, after all she went through. And she was doing well with her recovery, under the watchful eye of Valve on Salem. He could have stayed, he mulls over now. He could have pressed Evaline harder to stay on Salem when she turned him away. He could have been more helpful.

Paradiso stays silent for a long time, thinking this over. When he realizes that Gent was still there, waiting and watching, he snaps out of his brief reprieve only to realize he was still here, in the empty lagoon with this other stallion. "You're right." He says sheepishly, flicking his tail nervously over his hocks. "Look, I'm sorry about your mum... and I'm sorry about the way I treated you. That's not me. I-I-I'm not normally like this." He explained, his voice trailing off. "It's been... weird."

The stallion's blue gaze looks into the trees in the distance, unable to lock into Gent's in this vulnerable moment. He heaves a great sigh, and tries again. "Still want to go for that walk?"
