“There are some,” he said truthfully with a nod, and then paused to think. “There’s a few mountain ridges you can climb that brings you above the forest, and there’s the stretch of beach itself that isn’t obscured by anything.” He brightened as realization clicked. “There’s a great spot, it’s a bit of a hike but it’s at the crest of this mountain, right before you’d walk down to a more secluded beach – you can see the entire sky around you if there aren’t any clouds.” He’d never stargazed from that spot, but now that he realized how open it was, he couldn’t wait to show her. Surely she would find it beautiful and seeing her enjoying what beauty his home had to offer by way of the stars would only make him find her more gorgeous than he already did.
“It’s north, a bit of a swim but not impossible.” He said, and then smiled with bright eyes when she asked him when they could go. She actually wanted to go with him! Zevulun couldn’t wait to show her everything he could of the Bay that might make her enjoy it. Even if she only stayed a week, he swore to himself he’d make it the best week she’d ever experienced in her life. He wanted the Bay to leave a lasting impact on her. He wanted to leave a lasting impact on her. Maybe if they saw something new, something rare, a shooting star or the full moon’s light against the snow, the next time she saw the same she’d think of him warmly.
“We can go right now.” He said quickly, almost losing his breath for how excited he was. “I can lead you there.”
