The presence of the other mare comes as a surprise to the grey femme, her crown whipping around so she can face her with her good eye. Although it had been many long years, Stargazer knew these lands well. For the time being she was safe - the only unsavory things that ever tended to happen in the meadows were stallions forcing themselves onto mares in heat. As it was neither breeding season, nor was her new company a brute, she did not snarl or lash out. Instead, her chocolate optic sized up the woman before speaking in her own, hushed and scratchy voice.

”Greetings Calypso. I’ve not been to Palmtree Paradise in some span. Still, I remember it as pleasant. I am Stargazer of Koschei and Laila.

Her mother’s name feels like poison on her lips, nearly turning her facade into a scowl. Again, the white upside down heart that characterized her dam’s face burns itself into her eyelids. How unfortunate that her ghost had followed her home, though it was the only place she’d ever had any fond memories of her mother. Forcing the smallest curve of a smile onto her muzzle, Stargazer allows her battle ready body to relax. Friendly faces couldn’t be easily trusted, but she could at least try to let her guard down a little.

”I have recently taken up residence in the Prairie myself though I was born on Tinuvel. I cannot say I’ve missed the cold.” A somewhat bitter laugh fills the air. Stargazer tries to conjure any memories she may have of the vixen’s parents but nothing comes to mind. Likely, they had never crossed paths. Though she doesn’t dare turn her eye away from the girl, she does allow herself to take in other things, so long as Calypso is in her peripheral vision. Night, a blanket of beauty across the sky was indeed a blessing. The moon high, the stars like all the hopes of the world blinking back at them. Such a marvelous thing to have, hope. Stargazer felt herself naive for clinging to it but the idea of a new life here was too alluring to ignore.
