Paradiso felt a sudden tightness in his chest and a flutter in his gut that he'd never quite felt before when Maziel smiled at him. He snorted awkwardly in response, shifting his weight over his hind legs and allowing his tail to slap hard against the side of his rump. His nostrils flared as he took a brisk breathe, allowing the cold air to fill his lungs, and tried to still look cool and collected. It was difficult to remain still and not prance in place. A certain heat began to radiate from his chest as he watched Zevulun and Maziel banter back and forth. A whiskered smirk cracked over his own lips and he briefly longed for his family. It was nice to see a family still bound together here, tied by the land and working together to keep their family safe. Paradiso missed the days when they were all in the Prairie together. But that felt like a lifetime ago. He was fairly certain they'd never all be living in the same territory again.
When Zevulun offered to show him the terrain, Paradiso nickered eagerly, secretly relieved at the opportunity move and leave behind the more melancholy thoughts of his family and focus more on the electric-like feelings he was experiencing just being around Maziel. He fell in line between the two, one side-eye constantly watching Maziel as the moved away from the pebble-laiden shoreline and deeper into the forested terrain.
"This place is so cool." He said, the lure of their mysterious and foreign surroundings overcoming him. His blue-eyed stare was wide and alert as he spied ospreys holed up among the snow-covered branches of the tall pine and evergreen trees. The mountains couldn't be more crisp and clear all around them, encapsulating the Bay. "It's so different than Luthien."
