Her hooves sailed through the air and reconnected hard with the ground, sending a sharp jolt up the lines of her body. Before her, Orkaan was pivoting to show her his hindquarters, and Evren knew what was coming next - in an attempt to avoid it, she threw her head up high and scrambled backwards, but she was not quick enough. Two huge hooves punched her chest, knocking the wind out of her and roughly scraping her sleek brown fur as they arced up and away from her.
With a grunt of displeasure, she gathered her limbs beneath her and twisted her lithe body to gallop away a few strides, putting safe distance between the two of them. With her hindquarters still facing him, she threw him a glance from over her shoulder, rage heavy on her face, and contemplated her next move while her limbs trembled beneath her and her breath came quickly from her nostrils
As the seconds passed she could feel her body’s will to fight already ebbing away, though her spirit was still strong and eager to continue the confrontation. It was difficult to think rationally with her adrenaline so high, but she knew that, logically, she did not stand a chance against Orkaan right now. She was exhausted and shaken to her core, and he had the advantage of size and experience. She would need to be smarter if she was to defeat him.
A wordless snarl resounded deep in her throat. For now, they were at a stalemate.
