It has been some of the most joyous times of her life. She was excited when she had found out, her sides started to grow and her appetite increased. Even through the sickness, and everything she happily had awaited for them to come. Of course she had told her entire family, she knew they would be ecstatic for her too. Moonstone had been preparing ever since she found out, though perhaps she was going a little too far in her because of her excitement, gathering flowers and placing them all around her new birthing den, removing any herbs from her stocks that she thought might help her if there was trouble. She wanted to make sure she was closer to Taviora when they finally came. She knew Alistair would want to visit them, so she had made herself a new den in the lower area as close as she could get to Taviora.
Spring had come though, and Moonstone knew they would be around any time. Already she had heard one wolfess of the Mountains of the three, including herself, that were pregnant had given birth, she wasn’t sure how she might know when they would come. Of course there were contractions, but when they would actually come she didn’t know. It was a beautiful day though, so she had wandered from the den a ways, but she stuck to the lower ranges. She wasn’t hungry, she just wanted to walk, well as best she could. Her motherly body made it hard, but she just felt restless today. She looked at all the flowers, enjoyed the sun warming her red-brown pelt when she felt it.
She gasped with the force, that knocked the breath out of her. She knew she wouldn't make it back if each one was going to hurt this badly. Walking towards her den before the next one hit her. It was coming on her fast, and hard, soon the best she could do was curl up in a small clearing. It was okay, she was in Spirane, nothing would bother her here for now at least. She didn’t think she would be. Not that she had much of a choice now. She didn’t realize how painful it was, she always heard it wasn’t a pleasant experience, but even now she knew it all would be worth it.
It felt like a long while until she was rewarded with her first born. Moonstone had plenty of strength to move and clean him off, noticing how he looked a lot like his father. She smiled as she did so, seeing his half black face that was a bit like her father’s in a way. Once she was done cleaning him she was allowed a while of peace, no one yet had come, and her lavender eyes scanned the area. For a moment she wondered if she was done, when the next contraction hit and soon after that her second child had come. This one took more after her, with a brown pelt, though it didn't’ have the red. Another boy, and he squeaked and whined until she moved him to join his brother. She panted slightly, though the last one came faster, though she was tired it felt noticeably easier than the last two. There was less pain and discomfort than with the boys. When she was there, she saw once again her father’s mark was on her face, and that she had her first girl. She cleaned her, more seeing the silver and grey of her pelt and she felt exhausted. A little rest out here, then she would try to move them. It was late day now, and her form curled around her three small children protectively loving the feeling of their wriggling forms, them feeding from her. It was just as everyone said, all the pain and discomfort was worth it and she was sure Alistair would be happy to see them too.
