Valve only half-listened to Orhan ramble on about A’idah. It was of more interest to her how incredibly on edge he seemed, almost as though he was afraid that she might discover something he didn’t want her to know. When she turned her attention toward Koray, he stiffened even more and Valve had suspicions that whatever it was had to do with his son. So of course, Valve had to prod him ever so slightly with a very mild question, just to see where he stood.

Koray’s presence was clearly making it more difficult for her to get the information she needed out of Orhan, and if he was entirely uninterested in saying anything than there was no reason for him to be here.
