It had been some time since Ernesto had last seen Selenium, after their tryst in the Lagoon. He had been taking the time to settle into his new home, and although he felt comfortable in the place now he was beginning to become restless after staying still for so long.

He would have to stir up some trouble soon, that was for sure.

For now, however, he was surprised to catch Selenium’s familiar scent on the breeze. With interest, he headed towards the water, pushing his way past the denser foliage to find his companion. As he emerged and caught sight of her a little way away, he let out a low nicker to draw her attention as he approached.

As he came closer, however, he noticed the little bundle at her feet – a dark filly, splashed with white. He paused a moment before them, his dark eyes surveying the girl carefully. He couldn’t say she looked a lot like him, but the timing was right – and he hardly expected Selenium would have dragged such a young child into the Lagoon without good reason.

“Selenium,” he greeted with a smile, bobbing his head, before he turned his attention back to the filly. He lowered his head to sniff at her, offering his nose. “And who is this little chica?”
