aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Exhaustion had taken him over swiftly, but his rest was not very… Well, restful. Instead, the prince was played with nightmares. Who wouldn't be after learning of all the evil that lay in the world, and lived with the knowledge that he was responsible for controlling it all? He had been told all that they knew, but who were they? Would it be enough? Would there be others like him? Would his brother, whereever Castiel was, turn also? And what about his half brother? His parents and their far away land? His nieces and nephew's? His aunt? He was told that the magic ran in his blood, that they were descendants of special warriors and that was why they had turned. But why now? He had not seen any vampires, nor any of the so called rainbow wolves. Did they actually exist? In his dreams they did. Only the vampires could hardly be called wolves-they were great, towering, terrifying devils of the night with wings and fangs, talons and claws, venom and scales. They were like the demons of his imagination, and he was all alone fighting them. They worked together to gobble up the world bit by bit, and Vladimir could do nothing to stop them. He was only one, he was so small and insignificant. Until, at last, it was only him and Sera left, and they killed her first before gobbling him up too.

He woke with a start, disoriented and confused, and acutely aware of how sore his entire body was. His head still ached, but at least now he felt… Well not rested. But at least he had his energy back. Swollen shades struggled to stay open, and one of his paws swept out his face, rubbing away the remnants of sleep and stimulating his glands to release tears to lubricate his dried eyes. Once he lowered his paw, he blinked a few times and shook his head. And then there it was again, and echo of words, a set of vocals that he knew so well. "Seraphina!" he rushed to his paws and left out of the roots of the tree, his body nearly colliding with hers as he nuzzled against her roughly. " you are… You are…" alive. The word never left his mouth for he was choking back the saw that threatened to fall from his throat. He stood there for a moment, and allowed his mind to adjust to the waking world. That's right… She had woken him with her words. She had gently jested at the fact that he was still asleep, and called him a sleepyhead. Vladimir coughed and smiled, pulling away from her and quickly turning away so that he could swipe at his face again, this time to swipe away the tears that he did not want her to see. Hadn't she said something about breakfast?

He inhaled, and aside from her obvious perfume which sent his heart galloping at it quickened pace again, he tasted the scent of blood, but more importantly of rabbit. The initial irony scent had caused him worry, thinking she was injured, but she was fine. They both were fine. And despite whatever evil would come toward them, they would survive this together. Vladimir's stomach grumbled, and he managed a laugh, a halfhearted chuckle as he reached out to pull away half of the rabbit from her. " I don't know, I kind of like living out here in the open. Besides, if it means I get breakfast service every day then it's totally worth it." he winked at her and jumped back's lately, expecting for her to swipe at his face. If she didn't, he would shrug sheepishly. It was relieving to him that she still was the same old Seraphina. Part of him had worried that one of two things would happen when he confessed his feelings for her. The first was that she would reject him, and reject his feelings. That she would leave and never return, and that his heart would forever ache for her, and forever be lonely and alone. But the second was that making the transition from friend to lover, soulmate, life partner, would change the bond that they had. Her friendship meant everything to him, and no matter how dearly he loved her, he never would want to risk their friendship. But despite everything, they were just the same. They poked fun at one another, and played together. The only difference now, was that they would eventually make a family together. Already, they have spent the night together, and although nothing inappropriate or grown-up had happened, they had shared an intimate embrace the entire night. He could not know, that the weakness he had felt was not merely from his change. Yes, of course, it had taken a lot out of him. But more than that, his weakness came from him finding his soulmate. As long as she lived, he would be weak during the hours of the moon. He could move around, have conversation and everything like a normal wolf, but he would never be able to fight at night ever again. And if he were ever to come across a vampire in the night? If he did not have another by his side, he would be doomed.

"But yeah, I guess so. I doubt the place I use as my own den even exists anymore given the changes. We should… Explored it all first I guess? Which boundary should we head toward first? North, east, south, or west? I mean, we are closest to the lake, so should we just head there?" He would take her lead and go where ever she did, and if they didn't deed head to the lake, he would be in awe of it. Once, Aurora Borealis was the southernmost pack, and laid on the edge of leisure lake, which at that time was expensive and the other side could not be seen. But now, the lake had shrunk and have been enveloped by this new pack, with a new name. They would see the mountains that had grown to envelop the southern and western fronts of the territory. And if they traveled to any of the other borders? They would find that it took them longer than normal. The magic had not just change the land, it has expanded it. To travel from one side to the other side of the pack now took a day in full, and that was if a wolf was traveling hard. They would have a lot of exploring to do ahead of them.

But before they started to move, he paused mid stride. He just realized that she had made the same assumption that he had-that from now on they would stay together. " by… By our Dan, do you mean me and you? Do you mean that you want to stay with me? I mean, don't get me wrong I want you to stay with me, and I want to stay with you. But I don't want you to feel… Pressure? Not that I could ever pressure you to do anything you didn't want to do. I just… I mean we are… I love you." He laughed and shook his head, wondering why he was having so much trouble speaking to her. He never had any trouble expressing his opinion before. " of course it will be me and you, you're my soulmate and I am yours. I never want to spend a night away from you ever again."

OOC-hey question? Because they are nonseasonal and also are technically allowed to breed as teenagers, did you want to try giving their pups a shot? We do not have to, it was just an idea.
