Business. Psychedelic wondered briefly if the business had anything to do with him, but immediately pushed such thoughts away. If Persephone suspected him at all she’d have already come forward about it. From observing her, he had to surmise she was straightforward as they came and not likely to trick him into a ruse of pretending she had no idea of his true identity. He’d been worried since Talya told him Evaline had come to the Forest and that the neighboring territory was led by her son, but apparently Evaline hadn’t spilled the truth about him.

Why? That worried Psychedelic more than if she’d just fessed everything up and he could do damage control – see if he’d made enough presence here to pretend she was the crazy one and he had never lived on these islands before in his life. Why would she not tell Persephone about him? What was she planning? Where was Kasabian? Psychedelic had seen the hatred he’d had for his dam and what he’d done to her because of it (and what he’d encouraged Psychedelic to do to her, too)… if Kasabian was in the Lagoon, he doubted he would have so easily let Evaline leave.

“Well,” he stated with an apologetic smile, “don’t let me keep you from your business. You’re free to tell me to beat it and let you be.”

Wait a second… if Kasabian isn’t in the Lagoon… doesn’t that mean we can go back?! OMG LET’S GO BACK TO THE LAGOON! I miss that horrible smelling place and the mud and the lack of being a lazy old goat who doesn’t do ANYTHING FUN ANYMORE

Psychedelic flicked his tail idly, but otherwise showed no disturbance that the voice screaming enthusiastically in his head had done so. He’d have a word with it later, but for now he was doing everything he could to simply stay focused on Persephone. “It’s been wonderful, truly,” he said, “thank you, Persephone. This was exactly what I was envisioning when I’d hoped to find a safe place to raise my daughter.” He hesitated for a moment and sighed, shaking his head. “I know I’m a little more overprotective of her than most stallions would be of their children and I won’t lie, she isn’t my first child. But… she’s the only one I’ve ever known.”

These moments were always precarious and strange – he was telling the truth in facts, but was the emotion of it his, or was it Bob’s? Where did Psychedelic end and Bob begin?

“I lived a pretty eventful life before Talya came along. But I never stuck around long enough to actually see my children born and grow up… Talya’s been the first one I ever watched from a tiny little defenseless thing into who she is now… and she’s…” He hesitated. “She’s different. I don’t like to think what would have become of her if we stayed out on the Mainlands any longer.”

BOOOO!!! BOOOOORING!!!! Let’s get back to the fun stuff like talking about how we can go back to the Lagoon and stop being so LAME
